This is the Text of the article concerned, which appears as in a normal typeface. Our Analysis is presented in Bold:-
Joe De Saram was the former cheif executive of the Rhodium Ltd computer consultancy, based in the UK.
JOE DE SARAM WAS THE FORMER ‘CHAIRMAN AND CEO’ OF ‘RHODIUM PLC’ NOT ‘CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE RHODIUM LTD COMPUTER CONSULTANCY’. RHODIUM GROUP ITSELF HAS MANY ASSOCIATED AND NON-ASSOCIATED ENTITIES WORLDWIDE.
At the height of the technology boom he was worth a cool £25 million. He drove a Ferrari and was one of the richest people in England.
ACTUALLY THE FIGURE PREPARED BY PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS WAS AROUND GBP 100 MILLION.
De Saram fled the UK in 2003 afer his company went bankrupt, claiming that the government were responsible.
JOE DE SARAM DID NOT FLEE THE UK, AND CERTAINLY DID NOT DO SO IN 2003. JOE DE SARAM WAS IN SRI LANKA FOR A WELL-PUBLICISED PUBLIC FLOTATION OF THE UK COMPANY FROM JUNE 2000 ONWARDS. IN FACT JOE DE SARAM RETURNED TO THE UK IN AUGUST 2000 TO CONSIDER CAPITAL GAINS ISSUES AND THEN FLEW BACK TO SRI LANKA IN AUGUST 2000. THE FORMER RHODIUM PLC ENTERED INSOLVENT LIQUIDATION IN LATE NOVEMBER 2000 AND UK PASSPORT INFORMATION ALONE DEMONSTRATES THAT JOE DE SARAM ‘DID NOT FLEE THE UK AFTER HIS COMPANY WENT BANKRUPT’
He fled to Sri Lanka where he unsuccessfully attempt other ventures, including a computer company with Arthur C Clarke.
JOE DE SARAM DID NOT FLEE TO SRI LANKA, AND TO SAY THAT ‘HE UNSUCCESSFULLY ATTEMPT OTHER VENTURES’ IS OBVIOUSLY FALSE.
He currently owes millions to debtors.
JOE DE SARAM DOES NOT OWE MILLIONS TO DEBTORS, FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT DEBTORS ARE PARTIES THAT OWE MONEY RATHER THAN ARE OWED MONEY IF NOTHING ELSE. JOE DE SARAM WAS THE LARGEST CREDITOR OF RHODIUM PLC AND OBVIOUSLY DID NOT OWE MONEY TO CREDITORS OF RHODIUM BECAUSE IT WAS A LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY.
